Ian ThomasIt's been a crazy, but fun, couple of months as we get back to business as usual following our 2010 Strategic Partner Conference and the PRISM International Conference in Reno, NV.  During these months we managed to raise significant amounts of money for two well deserving charities and we had a great deal of fun doing it.

You can read all about both events in the What's New section below.

And while I've been running around, our technical team has been continuing to enhance RS-SQL version 4.0, based on your feedback. You can learn how to get hold of the updates coming soon in the Technical Section and also get information about better battery management.

Also, training is heading to Newark, NJ so, if you are on the East Coast of the US, this is a great opportunity to get trained without having to fly to California.  Read more below.

As always, I hope you enjoy this edition of the newsletter.

What's New at O'Neil

Strategic Partner Conference Update

Just when we thought that our O'Neil Strategic Partner Conferences couldn't get any better, at our recent one in April 2010 you proved us wrong!

Despite these tough economic times and travel complications due to a volcano erupting in Iceland (who would have thought?), somehow the turnout was still fantastic and deepened our belief that these user conferences are well worth our doing for our valued customers and vendors. Every year you continue to surpass our expectations with your enthusiastic attendance!

You showed us tremendous interest and appreciation for the knowledge imparted at our Sessions and by our Guest Speakers; you amused and sometimes frightened us with your competitive spirits displayed at our Record Center Challenge; you applauded and encouraged a young man's dream (Brandon Burrows) to become a professional singer some day while at our Awards Banquet; and finally you simply wowed us with your charitable donations to the charity we selected this time around.

More importantly, we will never forget your extremely creative artistic attempts at replicating, from a photo, a Masterpiece Painting of the Orange County Ronald McDonald House. Although your paint brushes were not always in the right place, there was no question that your hearts were and by the end of the conference you all helped raise $21,257 for this very deserving charity.

RSMobile Battery Management

Managing batteries has become an important part of our everyday life today.  This task, however, has even more relevance in a commercial record center.  Recently on our user forum there has been some discussion over the battery life of the MC909x mobile computers.  Different customers are experiencing different levels of use, and a large part of this is due to battery management.  To help, two documents are available for download at:

RS-SQL Version 4.0 - New Features Document & Release Notes

There appears to be some confusion when we release a new version of RS-SQL.  Rather than have Release Notes for every update, we simply update the primary Release Notes document.  When we place the new updates onto our website, we always post the latest release notes, removing the older version.

Want to read about all the changes in this latest version, as well as check the Upgrade/Release notes.  Well you don't have to wait until you receive your copy of the RS-SQL 4.0 CD, you can download the documents today at:

Question: I need a quicker way to edit boxes without having to query for them first.  Any Suggestions?
