Designed to be easy to use but providing powerful functionality, RSMobile allows you to carry out work once, with the philosophy of "Do it Right the First Time", saving money and increasing revenue opportunities.

The following are just a small selection of the key features this product has to offer, allowing users to more quickly access information and better react to events at the point-of-activity.

Easy to Use

Simple User Interface :: Although powerful, RSMobile offers a simplified user interface and is easy to use. It requires minimal training, based on familiar tools. Users can quickly be brought up to speed to utilize the software effectively and master proficiency.

Wireless/GPRS :: RSMobile communicates directly to your RS-SQL database, using wireless communications (known as WiFi/802.11b), GPRS/GSM (General Packet Radio Service/Global System for Mobile Communications), or Edge/3G. As a result, you don't even need to have a workstation switched on. You simply need to be in a wireless zone (or HotSpot) in your facility, or have a GPRS data connection (if using the MC9094). RSMobile will automatically connect you to the database.

Easy Setup :: Features such as the Precise Mode option, make the unit easy to use. For example, this feature offers a check box to enable/disable precise scanning mode. When turned on, the cross hairs of the scanner beam must hit the barcode directly in order for the scan to work. This can be helpful when scanning several barcodes that are close together. When not turned on, the barcode can be anywhere in the scanning range and the scan will work.

Inside the Record Center

Record Center Operations :: An essential task in any warehouse is the putaway or moving of items, while keeping track of everything. RSMobile allows you to do all this within one simple screen.

Picklists :: Picklists display at the top of the menu. Expected and completed counts display for each picklist. This lets you know if an assignment is complete, partially complete, or not even started yet. For example, if 10 items are on a picklist, but only 9 items have been scanned, 9/10 will appear next to the picklist.

Not Found/Re-Assign/Add-Related :: These features allow workorders to be corrected right from the mobile device. For example, you may be searching for the Robert Smith filefolder. When you locate it, you discover that there are actually three Robert Smith filefolders. You can use the Add Related feature to include them all on the picklist.

Outside the Record Center

Pickup & Deliver :: Carrying out operations on the road is simple for your drivers. The top of the screen displays the workorder number. It also shows the number of items scanned and not scanned. Items on the workorder are listed in the Item Code column. Scan the item's barcode with the RSMobile scanner and the pickup/delivery is validated.

Materials & Services :: Right from the RSMobile device your driver can add any materials you sell or services you provide. If waiting time is incurred, or boxes repacked, the workorder can be updated immediately and the customers signs to show their approval.

Signature Capture :: Signature Capture is available when using RSMobile. This feature lets your customer sign their name using a stylus on the screen of your RSMobile scanner. When a signature is captured, it is stored within RSMobile, printed on receipts, uploaded to RS-SQL with its session as appropriate, stored in the database, and is viewable from within RS-SQL. Use of the signature capture feature is optional. In addition to a signature image, the signature date/time is also captured, as well as the User ID of the RSMobile user. The type of activity being signed for, such as delivery or pickup, is also indicated. An optional comment can be entered along with the signature. This way, comments such as partial delivery accepted or missing file 1234567 can be entered. Signature capture is available when validating a pickup, delivery, access, receive, or destruction.

Connected Tools

Item Lookup :: The RSMobile connected features makes use of a persistent wireless connection to allow each item scan to trigger a realtime database lookup. The Item Lookup feature gathers information from the RS-SQL database about the scanned item and displays it. The Item Status is always displayed, but other details are displayed only if present. These optional details include Alternate Code, Account Code/Description, the Item’s Short Description, Refile Location Code, Location Code, and Containing Container Code, Status, Alternate Code, and Short Description..

Location Audit :: The RSMobile connected features makes use of a persistent wireless connection to allow each item scan to trigger a realtime database lookup. The Location Audit feature gathers information from the RS-SQL database about the scanned Location and displays it. The Quantity/Capacity and Holding Area Yes/No information is always displayed, but other details are displayed only if present. These optional details include Description, Object Code/Description, Account Code, and Building/Floor/Room information. All items associated with the scanned location are displayed in a list below the location details. This list can be viewed and compared against actual items found at the location.

Sort Items by Workorder :: The picklist feature in RS-SQL allows you to group together miscellaneous workorders so that the items on those workorders can be picked most efficiently. However, the result can be a group of items mixed together that have to be resorted again on the loading dock according to workorder. The Sort Items by Workorder feature provides a method to aid in the sorting of picked items into workorder groupings. You can sort items that have been picked as this connected feature makes use of a persistent wireless connection to allow each item scan to trigger a realtime database lookup.
