Also, don't forget to check out the technical news to learn more about the latest patch for RS-SQL 3.06.

What's New at O'Neil

RS-SQL Version 3.07 is being tested...

Many of you know that I love to start each year with a new release, and 2009 is looking like it will continue the trend.  I learned this week that version 3.07 has had its first build, which will undertake testing before becoming a release candidate.

Now many of you who attended the Strategic Partner Conference will have already got a sneak peak at some of the new features but for those of you who were not there, it's still not too late.  Take a look at the O'Neil Software support presentations that took place and you will see a couple of presentations that show some of the new features.  Over the next few newsletters I will let you know a little more about these features, which include:

  • RSWeb Cart Administrator

  • Email Event Notification Services

  • Default Workorder Priorities

  • Separating Storage & Service Invoices

  • And more...

It's going to be a great start to next year.

Strategic Partner Conference Survey Complete

With 60% of the votes now in, I think we can declare the Conference Survey officially closed, as at October 21, 2008.

The results are always very interesting and this year and they have indicated the following headlines:

  • 97% of attendees voted the conference as excellent or very good

  • 90% found the networking to be good, very good or excellent

  • 95% said the knowledge gained was very good or excellent

  • 100% said they increased their knowledge by the end of the show

  • 100% said they would use the information gained

All customers can read/download the complete survey from our user forum. Don't forget, you can also download all the conference materials, both the speaker presentations and the O'Neil Software support presentations.

New User Forum Update

Talking of statistics, I am delighted at the response we have received for the new, user forum, launched at the Strategic Partner Conference.  Some interesting, early statistics include:

  • We now have over 800 members

  • There have been 250 posts (averaging 1.75 new posts per day)

  • There are 140 topics, many with valuable downloads

  • There are 227 average page views per day

  • In November there was over 18,000 page views

Now all these numbers lead me to believe that many of you are "lurking" but unsure about asking or answering questions.  Well don't be nervous or shy, this new forum is designed to be friendly and helpful.  You can reply or comment on almost every topic you find, so I encourage you to look around and get involved.

Here’s a question asked of our technical specialists by an O'Neil Strategic Partner during the last month. Why not test your knowledge by seeing if you know the answer?

Question:  I want to charge a minimum amount for storage but only for boxes.  When I used the Minimum Storage charge it took into account my tape storage.  How do I address only box storage?
