Sessions

This year, the Strategic Partner Conference opened with a keynote from Kevin Boyle of Microsoft.  During the session he gave views on where Microsoft were heading, the importance of the relationship with O'Neil Software and an overview of the new Vista operating System and the new Office 2007 suite of programs. 

We ran triple-track sessions this year with speakers from government as well as commercial record centers.  We heard about successful implementation of new technology, corporate & commercial record management partnerships and even guides to being successful.

The support team provided a whole host of tips and ideas from RSWeb.NET customizations to RSMobile's hidden treasures.

The Record Center Challenge

This year's challenge introduced a new dimension with the end result being donated to charity.  22 teams of 6 people constructed bicycles to be donated to local, under privileged children.  Competition to build the best bicycle was fierce but everyone turned out to be a masterpiece of modern engineering.  Thanks to the generosity of BridgeDoc, we were also able to donate $2000 to the charity. 

I would like to express my personal thanks to everyone for enthusiastically taking on this challenge. You have made a lot of children very happy this summer.

The Dinner Cruise and Awards Ceremony

After the exciting Record Center Challenge, it was off to the Queen Mary for the Awards Dinner.  After a scary ghost tour, the attendees applauded this years Strategic Partner Award winners:

• Special Recognition Award - Don Landry of Filelink, LA.

• Award for Sales Excellence - Efficient Softech of Malaysia.

• Award for Technical Excellence - Access Information Management, CA

• Award for Operational Excellence - Stevens & Stevens, FL

• Strategic Partner of the Year (AustralAsia) - Navbharet Archives Xpress, India

• Strategic Partner of the Year (Europe) - The Hill Company, UK

• Strategic Partner of the Year (Americas) - Washington Archives Management, WA

We also had a lot of fun with the O'Neil Deal or No Deal game with a prize of up to $5000 value.  Congratulation to Mark Womak of Arizona Records Management who struck a deal of a free user license beating his chosen filefolder, which was opened to reveal a $500 value.
