July 1, 2007—FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

O’Neil Software Announces Their Latest Upgrade — RS-SQL, Version 3.4

Irvine, California — The records storage industry is constantly evolving.  And in the blink of an eye, what was once state-of-the-art in technology can suddenly become run-of-the-mill.   That’s why companies like O’Neil Software, continuously upgrade their products, so their customers can adapt and grow while having the flexibility to adjust to the changing needs of their business.

To that end, O’Neil recently announced their latest upgrade to their flagship record storage management product, RS-SQL, Version 3.4.  This new release is focused on RS-SQL and RSWeb®.NET enhancements, which continue to lighten the load on record center staff and reduce the time and effort it takes to access information.

“It’s one thing to succeed in this business — but saying on top is something else entirely,” notes Ian Thomas, Vice President of Business Development at O’Neil. ” In this fast paced, high tech world, our software is engineered around two proven facts:  one, it’s built to expand, not expire.  Two,  it’s so flexible that its value is timeless and always compatible with new releases—even the ones we haven’t generated yet.”

This latest release of RS-SQL offers the following highlights:

RS-SQL Interface Highlights

New Password and Lockout Policies Added for Greater Security.

Now there are several options available allowing you to enforce how frequently old passwords can be reused; the amount of characters required; the length of time it can be used until it must be changed; how frequently a user can change it; and the ability to monitor failed login attempts including the date, time and IP address (for RSWeb.NET).

Additionally, Lockout Policies allow you to set up specific procedures that apply, when a user is locked out of the system due to a password issue.

Enhanced Records Retention Scheduling

Records Retention has been significantly enhanced with configurable Destroy Date calculations, using single or multiple dates.  You can also mark a retention schedule as inactive.  This aspect of the software has also been improved with the ability for level two or three accounts to inherit record retention schedules from a higher level, dramatically reducing set-up time.

Priority Alert Feature Updated

A new submenu has been added, to allow viewing and editing of  all existing RSWeb.NET alerts; the ability for you to create

alerts for almost anything and use this feature as an internal messaging system; and display previous alerts received and archive or delete selected alerts.

RSWeb.NET Interface Highlights

Drop Down Lists Have Been Introduced for Greater Accuracy.

While adding/editing fields to custom data entry forms, you can now set up a drop down list number for the Account and Category fields, rather than having web users type the entry themselves, thus preventing wrong information from being keyed in.  You also have the ability to configure the maximum number of drop down rows.

In the Inventory grid when your web users double click on a row, the default Edit form is brought up for immediate editing, saving them time and a mouse click or two.   A faster way of sorting has also been introduced — the Inventory, Shopping Cart and Order Status grids can now be sorted simply by clicking on the column heading.
