  1. Conference Banner Thank you for making the 2010 O'Neil Strategic Partner Conference, held at the beautiful Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort, Huntington Beach, CA, our most successful one ever!

O’Neil recently hosted their 2010 Strategic Partner Conference at the beautiful Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, California on Wednesday, April 21st to Friday, April 23rd. The location (“Surf City, USA”) has become a favorite of attendees and is where O’Neil held their 2007 Strategic Partner Conference. Due to popular demand, it was selected again, offering an atmosphere that lends itself perfectly to a unique, interactive and memorable experience.

And although Picassos the attendees will never be and not a one of their Record Center Challenge masterpiece paintings for charity will ever go down in history as a great work of art, their hearts were in the right place.  "For The Record" they painted, on canvasses, their rendition of the Orange County Ronald McDonald House, with as much attention to detail as they could glean from a picture.  And by the end of the conference, O'Neil's customers and vendors overwhelmingly decided that they best keep their records management day jobs - at least for now.  However, they did manage to raise $21,257 for this local charity by auctioning off these "want-to-be masterpieces" and other records management industry-related silent auction items.  The goal?  Help the OC Ronald McDonald House lift some of the heavy fiancial burden on families by providing a comfortable and affordable "home away from home," while their child is being treated for a serious illness at a nearby hospital.

Review

Just when we thought that our O'Neil Strategic Partner Conferences couldn't get any better, at our recent one in April 2010 you proved us wrong!

Despite these tough economic times and travel complications due to a volcano erupting in Iceland (who would have thought?), somehow the turnout was still fantastic and deepened our belief that these user conferences are well worth our doing for our valued customers and vendors.  Every year you continue to surpass our expectations with your enthusiastic attendance!

You showed us tremendous interest and appreciation for the knowledge imparted at our Sessions and by our Guest Speakers; you amused and sometimes frightened us with your competitive spirits displayed at our Record Center Challenge; you applauded and encouraged a young man's dream (Brandon Burrows) to become a professional singer some day while at our Awards Banquet; and finally you simply wowed us with your charitable donations to the charity we selected this time around.

More importantly, we will never forget your extremely creative artistic attempts at replicating, from a photo, a Masterpiece Painting of the Orange County Ronald McDonald House.  Although your paint brushes were not always in the right place, there was no question that your hearts were and by the end of the conference you all helped raise $21,257 for this very deserving charity.

Special recognition goes out to all the Silent Auction Winners and especially to all of our generous Sponsors for their donations: Access Information Management, REB Storage Systems International, Fileman, Microsoft, Gilbertson Advertising, the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort and AVI SPL Audio Visual Innovations.

We would also like to congratulate all of our Strategic Partner of the Year Award winners for 2010:  SP Partner of the Year for the Americas - Pacific Storage; SP Partner of the Year for the European Region - Wincanton Records Management; Special Recognition  - County of Riverside; Early Adopter of the Year - File Center, Inc.; Website of the Year Using RSWeb.NET - Priority Archives; Forum Moderators of the Year - Martin Duty, Jez Tibbets, Martin Cole and James Hill.

So what did you think about the Strategic Partner Conference 2010?  Our post conference survey really says it all:

98% of attendees voted the conference as excellent or very good.

100% found the networking to be good, very good or excellent

94% said the knowledge gained was very good or excellent

97% said they increased their knowledge about our products and services by the end of the show.

100% said they would use the information gained.

All of us here at O'Neil would like to thank you for your continued interest in and overwhelming support of our Strategic Partner Conferences.  At each and every one, you expect the best and each and every time, we endeavor to deliver and with a little luck and lots of work on our part - hopefully we surpass your expectations.

Charity

OC Ronald McDonald HouseThe charity we selected for 2010 is the Orange County (OC) Ronald McDonald House, located only a few blocks from Childen's Hospital of Orange County, California (CHOC) and other pediatric hospitals and medical facilities in the area. The idea behind the Ronald McDonald House is simple: provide a comfortable and affordable “home away from home” for families shouldering the burdens associated with a child, who is being treated for a serious illness at a nearby hospital. Our goal is to help this caring, compassionate and charitable organization lift some of the heavy financial burden on families, who already struggle with so many concerns and fears.

Currently we have raised $21,257 for this deserving organization, but we are not finished yet. There is still an opportunity to bid on a late silent auction item (details at: http://www.oneilsoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=676.0) or you could purchase some conference items and even if you did not attend, you could consider making a charitable donation

Silent Auction

Every year we try to raise as much money as possible for our chosen charity and this year was no different. Even before the conference had begun, we have raised over $6,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Orange County. The work they do is incredible and benefits families around the world who travel to Orange County to take advantage of one of the leading children’s hospitals, known as CHOC.

One of our most popular fund raising efforts is the silent auction. Each break during the conference we announced the highest bid for each item, but not necessarily the person who made the bid.

The 2010 Silent Auction Items winners are:

  1. 1. Raymond Smith - Motorola MC9094K (2D, SD-card, WiFi , Bluetooth and GPRS Capable)
  2. 2. Debra Bingham - Motorola WAP AP5131
  3. 3. Scott Whittaker - RS-SQL User License (incl. 1st Year Annual License Fee)
  4. 4. Dan Sobel - 10,000 Barcode Labels
  5. 5. Richard Gordon - FileMan Distance Learning Manuals (plus 2 hours of telephone consultation)
  6. 6. Edna Ingold - Microsoft Office Standard 2007 (donated my Microsoft)

The silent auction alone raised $6025. Thank you for everyone who got involved and remember that there is still an opportunity to bid on a late silent auction item. Details at:http://www.oneilsoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=676.0

You can still contribute a smaller amount as we have a limited quantity of conference towels and charity support wristbands for sale. All registrants received one of each item, but more can be purchased online at: http://www.oneilsoft.com/store?view=store.

The previous Strategic Partner Conferences have all been great fun, and we have lots of photographs and feedback to share with you. With five previous conferences we need more space than this, so Click Here to go to the conference reviews page.
